Music

We have a wonderful group of talented members who have committed themselves to the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church.  Our main goal is that all of our music glorify God.  The leadership of First Baptist Church have an open but conservative, more traditional attitude toward music.  We use both hymns and choruses (projected on a screen) in our services.

Music Policy

Choir

Our Adult choir sings every Sunday morning in our 11:00 a.m. service September through May.  The choir is open to all adult members and High school students who are members of First Baptist Church.  They practice every Wednesday evening approximately 8:05-9:00 p.m.  Mr. John Speck directs our choir.

Orchestra

Our Orchestra plays every Sunday morning in our 11:00 a.m. service September through May.  The Orchestra is open to all adult members and students 8th grade and above whose parents are members of First Baptist Church.  Mr. Paul Case directs our orchestra.

Cantatas (Musicals)

Our Adult Choir and Orchestra join together for our annual Christmas Cantata the first weekend of December.   Our Cantata features music and drama to celebrate the birth of Christ.  We usually have over 80 people involved in one or more areas.  The Cantata is performed on Saturday evening, as a ministry to our community, and Sunday evening also.  Extra practices are added to devote our time and energy to the Cantata.

Our Adult Choir and Orchestra also do an Easter Cantata in the Spring as well as other events as well.

Special Music

We encourage our adult members and children of members to use their musical talents in our morning and evening services.  Whether playing the piano, keyboard, musical instrument or vocal we strive to honor the Lord through music.
